At the end of a mile-long drive through forest and field, Whiskey Creek Golf Club has a feeling of privacy and seclusion. Bordered by a high ridge of hardwoods and a winding, free-flowing creek, the property contains many different environments and natural features including springs, streams, stone walls, wetlands, rock outcroppings, broad meadows, pine forests and dramatic views of the Catoctin Mountains. Architect J. Michael Poellot and design consultant Ernie Els, a 2-time United States Open Champion, have designed Whiskey Creek to take full advantage of its spectacular setting.

For sheer excitement, Whiskey is hard to match. The course has several elevated tees, including the dramatic fifth tee, where the tee box is framed by huge boulders and the fairway tumbles down to a green 100 feet below. The view seems to stretch across all of Maryland. The 14th tee isn't quite as high, but the drive is even more challenging, as the tee is perched above a long, narrow lake. Even the par 3's are formidable, protected by wetlands, water, bunkers, or rock walls - and in the case of the 200-yard 11th hole, by all of the above.

Course Facilities

From beginners to experts, Whiskey Creek's professional staff will create a program to help you improve your skills and take your game to the next level! Our bent grass teeing area, short game facility and practice-putting green provides any level golfer the opportunity to improve their game and make the game we all love more fun! The clubhouse at Whiskey creek is designed to give visitors the feel of an old, secluded lodge with Shaker Shingles framing the sides and the roof. A wooded porch wraps around three sides of the clubhouse and offers players the chance to enjoy the views of the surrounding countryside while watching players finish on both the 9th and 18th holes. Inside, the exposed beams and working stone fireplace immediately invoke feelings of being at a ski lodge. Large inviting leather chairs surrounding the fireplace are one of the many gather places inside the clubhouse for casual conversation or enjoying the fine food prepared by our professional staff. The full service restaurant and bar can seat up to 80 people inside with additional seating for 30 or more outside on the porches. And located on the second floor (offering a spectacular view of hole #9) is a private meeting room that can accommodate 40 people. A full service golf shop is available.

From the North	Take Route 15 South to I-270 South toward Washington, DC. Take Exit 26 and turn right onto Route 80 East. Follow Route 80 East for about 3 miles to course entrance on the left at Whiskey Creek Boulevard.
From the South	Take I-270 North to exit 26 and turn left onto Route 80 East. Follow Route 80 for about 3 miles to course entrance on the left at Whiskey Creek Boulevard.
From the East	Take I-70 West towards Frederick. Take Exit 62 and turn left onto Route 75 South. Follow Route 75 for about 3 miles and turn right onto Route 80 West. Follow Route 80 West for about 2 miles to course entrance on the right at Whiskey Creek Boulevard.
From the West	Take I-70 East into Frederick. Exit onto I-270 South towards Washington, DC. Take Exit 26 and turn right onto Route 80 East. Follow Route 80 East for about 3 miles to course entrance on the left at Whiskey Creek Boulevard.
